Pernik takes interim place in Local Integrity System Index 2016 with score of 3.00. On one hand the assessment of Mayer (2.59) and local administration (3.05) has significantly poor results and on the other hand Courts register one of the best results according to its indicators duration and low percent of repealed/amended acts. Assessments related to the work of the municipal council (3.48) and the police authorities (3.31) have made a stronger contribution to the role and governance practices of the two sectors in favor of the local integrity system.

Non-governmental organizations in Pernik Municipality receive a total score of 2.63, which is below the average for the country. This result is due to the fact that during the last year there have been no revelations about abuses and irregularities made by civil society organizations; civil society organizations have not initiated effective measures uniting the actions of institutions and civil organizations to counteract corruption and developed anti-corruption strategies and proposals.
