The overall score of the Local Integrity System Index in 2015 is 3,14, on a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being the highest possible score. Sofia and Burgas share the leading position in the ranking with a score of 3,59 – a good performance, but still far from the highest standards. Kurdzhali, Varna, Vidin and Haskovo occupy the lowest positions in the Index with the poorest performance indicators for accountability and integrity. The sector which ranks lowest in the overall yearly index is the sector of local business – only 2,44 points, followed by the local political parties (2,68).
